Specialized Chemistry Lab 1, one of the laboratories of the College of Applied Sciences affiliated with the Applied Chemistry program, was established in 2010. It can accommodate 15 students and contains modern tools and equipment necessary to provide students with various practical skills and abilities.
This laboratory aims to teach students techniques for identifying and defining organic and inorganic substances. It also focuses on methods for separating and purifying them, utilizing boiling and melting points, as well as processes such as recrystallization, distillation, sublimation, extraction, and chromatography. Furthermore, students are instructed in methods for manufacturing organic and inorganic materials and analyzing their properties and purity. The study of chemical reactions includes exploration of their speed, energy, and tracking methods. Additionally, students examine the production processes of various industrial materials, such as detergents, skincare products, plastics, and paints.
Students are also trained to adhere to laboratory safety procedures and to perform calculations for the experiments they conduct.
These laboratories are utilized for conducting research experiments for graduation projects.
